MUMUNI GAMEL TO UPGRADE HIS COACHING CV
19th december, 2013
The Technical Director of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, Baba Nuhu Mallam has told tufaghanafc.com that the department has directed that head coach Mumuni Gamel upgrade his coaching credentials to help the club’s fight for a place in the middle league.
Coaches who began the course to acquire the CAF Licence A certificate are back in the classroom to complete it.
The coaches, numbering about 50, reassembled at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence last Monday to begin their final 15 days training and successful completion of their practical lesson in search of the Licence A, comparable to the UEFA Licence A.
They include all the national team coaches, Premier League coaches, as well as some individuals who have undertaken the previous courses.
Briefing the media on the course, Mr Francis Oti-Akenten, one of the CAF Coaches Instructors and head of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Technical Directorate, said the completion of this final stage would determine if the coaches qualify for the highest coaching certificate on the continent.
He said in all the coaches were expected to undergo a 240-hour training programme and the first 120 hours, which covered 15 days, was completed earlier in the year and the current programme would conclude the training.
Coach Mumuni Gamel , who had previously handled the national under-20 women’s team, the Black Princesses and had stints with premier league clubs like RTU and Berekum Arsenals is one of the experience coaches undergoing this exercise.
