TUFA U-14s MAKE IMPRESSIVE START TO SOUTHERN TOUR
28th June, 2014.
The Tamale Utrecht Football Academy (TUFA), in partnership with their mother club FC Utrecht, have successfully completed the first leg of their Southern tour of Ghana with a 7-2 victory over a Techiman select Under-14 team in the Brong Aharfo Region.
The TUFA U-14’s 5-day tour, which is sponsored by Management as part of their agenda for creating shared prosperity through sport, saw the team secure their second victory in Techiman.
The Southern Tour of Ghana represents an important development opportunity for the TUFA students. Along with their daily football training, the boys will be continuing their education and taking part in a number of cultural visits, as well as learning to cope with the southern food and weather.
The support from management, will provide significant support to TUFA’s vision of offering talented, underprivileged children the opportunity to fulfill their true potential in life – through football, education and character development – and in so doing claim a better future for their communities and country.
Ahead to the tour, CEO of TUFA, Abdulai Alhassan, told tufaghanafc.com: “It will be a great experience for the boys; they have been working very hard over the past two years to have individually earned this opportunity. We have been playing some matches here in the north and we believe this will provide the platform for them to experience different life style in their football career”
“The tour will be a real test for them to display social awareness, self-discipline and passion for what really matters to them.
“The dedication and team work they will put into their upcoming games will go a long way to develop them as young footballers and strong, self-disciplined characters.”
According to Abdulai Alhassan, Management is working hard to secure a lucrative sponsorship deal to enable the boys travel outside the country.
